Balloon FAQ

1 - What is your substitution policy?

Most items on our website are in stock and available. The website is updated constantly to ensure accuracy. Balloons sometimes become unavailable and should this happen we will make appropriate substitutions with a balloon of equal size, value, and similar design. If a major issue should arise ”i.e. an entire bouquet is out of stock” the purchaser will be contacted and notified of such an issue and approval will be needed to make a change. This is extremely rare.

2 - How far in advance should I place my order?

We always offer same day service, however it is advisable to place all orders at least 2 days in advance to guarantee items are in stock.

3 - Can I add specific balloons from other arrangements you sell to an existing bouquet?

Yes, All custom orders must be placed over the phone with a sales associate.

4 - Can I choose an exact delivery time for my order?

During the checkout process, you will be able to select a 2 hour window for delivery.

5 - Should I place my order online or should I phone in my order?

Place your order online. Its faster, easier, secure, and guarantees you will receive a prompt receipt and confirmation of your order.

6 - Can I get balloons in any color?

Yes. Refer to the Color Chart page.

7 - Is there a delivery charge?

Yes. Refer to the Delivery Info page for rates. There is an additional surcharge for early deliveries before 9 am, for late deliveries after 5 pm, or for deliveries beyond local delivery zones.

8 - Can my bouquet be personalized?

Yes.

9 - Will you customize balloons?

Absolutely. Refer to the Custom Imprinting page.

10 - Are your balloons on strings?

They float on 6 foot ribbons or longer.

11 - Can I have my balloons delivered a day before my event?

Yes, but latex balloons will have to be treated with Hi-Float at 50 cents per balloon. Mylar will be fine overnight.

12 - Will table centerpieces obstruct the view of the person across from me?

No. They are designed for socializing and will float above eye-level.

13 - Can you come visit the event location?

14 - Do you accept credit cards?

Yes.

15 - Can I come in to pick up balloons?

Yes. The address is: Balloon Saloon, 133 West Broadway. It is on the corner of Duane Street, Tribeca.

16 - Do you do balloon drops or releases?

Yes.

17 - If I blow up balloons by mouth, will they float?

No, only balloons inflated with helium will float.

18 - When will my balloons arrive?

Your balloons will arrive within an hour of requested time (sometimes, we get caught in traffic!)

19 - Can you deliver to hospitals?

Yes. Some hospitals accept only Mylar balloons, some hospitals do not accept balloons and deliveries must be completed by 4 pm. Please call for more information.

20 - Do you deliver the same day?

Yes, in NYC and the Metropolitan Area.

21 - What is Hi-Float?

Hi-Float is a liquid sealant used to coat the interior surface of latex balloons and reduces the speed at which helium escapes through the latex skin. It can increase the float time by several days. Hi-Float is non-toxic and water soluble.

22 - How long will balloons float?

12" latex balloons will float for 15-20 hours or 3-5 days when treated with Hi-Float. Mylar balloons will float for up to one week. Refer to the Float Times page for more info.
